Q1. 1 Girl and 1 Boy
Ramos and Famos (The names are takes just as an assumption) are newly married couple with 2 beautiful kids, one of them is a sweet little girl. Now safely assume that the probability of each gender is 1/2. What is the probability that the other kid is also a girl child?
Below you are shown the possible combinations of two children:-
Girl – Girl
Girl – Boy
Boy – Boy
Boy – Girl
We already know that one of them is a girl child, so there is no chance of Boy – Boy probability and we could easily drop that. So only 3 possibilities left, among which one is 2 girls combination. Hence, we can draw the line with the final answer of 1/3rd probability of the other child to be a girl one.
