AIEEE Examination Details for Students – Informative and Useful

All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) is considered to be a high-rated entrance examination for all the engineering students, where students qualified for the exam, are able to admit to many of the reputed central Government funded institute like IIITs, National Institute of Technologies (NITs) Deemed Universities and more. It’s organised by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in India.

AIEEE Entrance

Eligibility Criteria:

1. To be qualified for the exam, one needs to pass in the final exam of 10 + 2 (Class XII) or it’s equivalent.

2. Those appearing in the final exam of 10 + 2 (Class XII) or it’s equivalent may also appear for AIEEE for consideration of provisional admission.

3. For B.E. and B.Tech courses through AIEEE, one needs to study subjects like Mathematics and Physics and either Biotechnology, Biology, Computer Science or Chemistry.

4. One needs to have Maths as compulsory subjects for B. Arch or B. Planning with at least 50% marks in aggregate at 10 + 2 level.

AIEEE Syllabus:

For B.E. / B. Tech

The entrance test is of 3 hours, contains objective questions from Maths, Chemistry and Physics with equal importance given to each subject. Every question has four options with a negative marking of 1/4th marks for each incorrect answer.

B. Arch / B. Planning

The entrance test is of 3 hours, contains questions from Aptitude test, Maths and Drawing test. Maths and Aptitude will have objective questions, while drawing aptitude will have questions to test the drawing aptitude of a student.

AIEEE Application Form Procedure:

Fees could be made by Demand Draft (DD) or Credit Card.

When Fees paid through the DD:

  • Get ready before filling the application form, if you want to remit the fees by DD
  • You need to log on to the AIEEE site to fill the application form, and note down the registration number which would be generated by the system required for payment.
  • If you pay through the credit card, then kindly note down the payment receipt number after successful payment of fee.
  • You need to take out the print out of the payment confirmation page and complete as per the given instruction.Note: For credit card transaction, bank will charge 2% processing/service tax as applicable on transaction made by credit card.

Pasting Photograph:

You need to paste your 2 recent photographs, sign in the specified box and just send this confirmation page along with the DD by Registered / Speed post (don’t use Courier services) to “The Assistant Secretary (AIEEE Unit), Central Board of Secondary Education, PS 1-2, Institutional Area, IP Extension, Patparganj, Delhi 110092” for further processing so as to reach latest by end of Month of January. If any application is received beyond this date, it will be rejected.

You need to affix two of your recent high contrast passport size photographs, preferably black and white, with favicol/gum (Don’t pin or staple) in the space provided for it in the Application form, one duly attested by the head of the institution where the candidate is studying/passed class XII or the Gazetted officer. The photograph should be decent in looking, without any cap or goggles, and must indicate the name of the candidate along with the date of taking it.

Spectacles are allowed, but polaroid photos are not acceptable. The photograph should be attested in such a way that one part of the signature in on the photograph and one part is on the application form. The attestation should be done on the bottom part of the photograph, so it’s not defaced. If a candidate is not complying with this instruction or indistinct photograph, is liable to be rejected. A candidate is requested to keep 6-8 identical photographs in reserve for use at the time of entrance examination / Counselling / Admission.
